Start of employment 1 February 2028, or by agreement, permanent employmentThe Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship and Chair of Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System. The professor will be appointed as head of the Department of Traumatology of the University Hospital Zurich and represents the subject in research, clinical care, and teaching. The Department of Traumatology specializes in the treatment of complex trauma and injury consequences, particularly the management of polytrauma as well as abdominal and thoracic injuries. The care of patients with primarily elective orthopedic conditions is mainly provided at the University Hospital Balgrist.
We are looking for a dynamic, integrative, and collaborative personality, with extensive clinical expertise and scientific experience in traumatology, particularly in polytrauma research and the care of polytrauma patients. A habilitation or an equivalent academic qualification, as well as board certification in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System, and subspecialty certification in spinal surgery or an equivalent foreign qualification, are required.
